Quick answer

In Pune the fire NOC comes from one of four fire services, decided by where the plot is: the PMC Fire Brigade inside Pune Municipal Corporation limits, the PCMC Fire Department in Pimpri-Chinchwad, PMRDA's Fire Department in the metropolitan region outside both, or MIDC's fire service on MIDC plots such as Hinjewadi and Chakan.

Each issues a Provisional Fire NOC at plan stage and a Final Fire NOC before the occupancy certificate under the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2006: PMC through services.pmc.gov.in, PMRDA through its Right to Services portal, MIDC through its single window. After occupation, a licensed agency's Form B goes in every January and July.

How to get a fire NOC for a new building in Pune

  1. Find the authority for the plot

Check whether the survey number lies in PMC limits, PCMC limits, an MIDC estate or the wider PMRDA region. Hinjewadi's MIDC phases and Chakan have MIDC fire stations; Wagholi and Marunji have PMRDA ones.

  2. Design to UDCPR and Schedule-I

Pune is under UDCPR, not Mumbai's DCPR 2034. The fire installations come from Schedule-I of the 2006 Act by occupancy and height: in an apartment block, a down comer from 15 m, talk-back from 24 m and a wet riser above 35 m.

  3. Apply for the Provisional Fire NOC with the plans

File with the building permission: on services.pmc.gov.in in PMC, through PMRDA's Right to Services portal in the region, or through MIDC's single window on an MIDC plot. PMRDA's checklist includes the architect's declaration of liability.

  4. Pay the fire fee the way the authority asks

PCMC takes fire NOC fees only by RTGS, NEFT or IMPS into its Fire Protection Fund. MIDC raises an online demand note.

  5. Install through a licensed agency and get Form A

A Maharashtra-licensed agency installs the systems and certifies them on Form A, which the final NOC file carries.

  6. Apply for the Final Fire NOC before the occupancy certificate

The fire service inspects. PMRDA's final list runs to 19 items, including fire lift, fire door, pump and pressure certificates and a hydraulic calculation.

  7. Keep the Form B calendar

Every January and July a licensed agency certifies maintenance on Form B, filed with the same fire service. In PMC it goes to the Central Fire Station or by e-mail.

Which fire service covers your Pune address: PMC, PCMC, PMRDA or MIDC?

Pune's fire NOC is split 4 ways. The plot's location, not the building type, decides which office you deal with.

  1. IfInside Pune Municipal Corporation limits: Shivajinagar, Kothrud, Koregaon Park, Hadapsar, Kondhwa, Lohegaon and the rest

The PMC Fire Brigade issues the NOC; apply on services.pmc.gov.in and file Form B at the Central Fire Station. PMC

  2. IfInside Pimpri-Chinchwad limits: Pimpri, Chinchwad, Bhosari, Wakad, Nigdi, Akurdi, Chikhali

The PCMC Fire Department issues it; its main station is at Sant Tukaram Nagar, Pimpri. PCMC

  3. IfIn the metropolitan region outside both corporations, such as Wagholi, Marunji or Nanded City

PMRDA's Fire Department issues the Provisional and Final Fire NOC, through its Right to Services portal. PMRDA

  4. IfOn an MIDC plot: Hinjewadi Phase I or III, Chakan, Ranjangaon or Kurkumbh

MIDC's fire service, through the MIDC single window; each of these estates has an MIDC fire station. Factories MIDC fire stations

  5. IfIn MIDC Bhosari or MIDC Talegaon

MIDC's published station list has no station at either; Bhosari sits inside PCMC, whose Jijau sub fire station is there. Confirm the issuing office before filing. MIDC fire stations

Pune buildings that drive fire NOCs

The building types Pune's fire services have targeted, each with its all-India page.

Six Pune buildings and what the rules make each do

Real-shaped cases worked from the published rules of Pune's fire services. They are examples, not client stories.

  1. Case 1

    A 24 m apartment tower in Wakad

Stilt plus 7, inside PCMC limits.

What applies PCMC's Fire Department decides. Schedule-I's 15 to 35 m band applies, with talk-back and public address because it reaches 24 m; the fee goes by RTGS, NEFT or IMPS to the Fire Protection Fund. MH Act 2023 Schedule-I

  2. Case 2

A G+3 hotel in Koregaon Park

Lodging with a restaurant, inside PMC limits.

What applies The PMC Fire Brigade; star hotels and lodging are among the 9 fire NOC types on services.pmc.gov.in. Form B each January and July at the Central Fire Station. PMC

  4. Case 4

    A 30 m housing project in Wagholi

New tower in the PMRDA region, outside PMC.

  5. Case 5

    A 30-bed PG in Lohegaon

Converted residential building, no separate building permission.

What applies In September 2026 PMC sealed PGs here that could not show building approval or fire certificates. Regularise the building and fit fire systems before opening. ThePrintnews report

  6. Case 6

    A 50-bed hospital in Pimpri

    Nursing home registered with PCMC.

Form B and fire audits for Pune buildings

No fixed renewal period, but two filings a year and, for the tallest towers, an audit.

Do

  • File Form B every January and July; in PMC, at the Central Fire Station or by e-mail. Pune Pulsenews report
  • In PMC, take the certificate in duplicate to the Fire Prevention Center at the Modern Fire Station if asked. Punekar Newsnews report
  • On an MIDC plot, file Form B on the MIDC portal, online only since 1 January 2025. MIDC circular
  • For a residential tower above 70 m, book a licensed Fire and Life Safety Auditor every 2 years. Amendment Act 2023

Don’t

  • Don't assume a fire NOC renewal date: the 2023 amendment issues renewals only where another Act or rule requires one, though IMA Pune reported in January 2026 that hospitals were being asked yearly. Medical Dialoguesnews report
  • Don't stop at the provisional NOC: 27 PMC high-rises were reported in October 2026 without a final one. Punekar Newsnews report
  • Don't pay PCMC's fire fee in cash, by cheque or by demand draft: it accepts only RTGS, NEFT or IMPS. PCMC

  • A published fire NOC fee or capitation fee table for PMC, PCMC or PMRDA.
  • The Right to Services time limits in days for PMC's and PMRDA's fire NOCs; a June 2025 state decision set 12 days for municipal fire NOCs, as reported.
  • Which office issues fire NOCs for plots in MIDC Bhosari and MIDC Talegaon, neither of which appears in MIDC's 2021 station list.

Questions about Pune

Who issues the fire NOC in Pune?

It depends on the plot: the PMC Fire Brigade inside Pune Municipal Corporation limits, the PCMC Fire Department in Pimpri-Chinchwad, PMRDA's Fire Department in the metropolitan region outside both, and MIDC's fire service on MIDC plots such as Hinjewadi, Chakan, Ranjangaon and Kurkumbh. All work under the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2006.

How do I apply for a fire NOC online in Pune?

In PMC limits use services.pmc.gov.in, which lists 9 fire NOC service types. In the PMRDA region use PMRDA's Right to Services portal, rts.pmrda.gov.in, or Aaple Sarkar. MIDC plots go through the MIDC single window. PCMC's department page publishes no online application link.

What is the fire NOC fee in Pune?

PMC and PMRDA publish no fire NOC fee table. PCMC takes fire NOC fees only by RTGS, NEFT or IMPS into the PCMC Fire Protection Fund at Bank of Baroda, and refuses cash, cheques and demand drafts. MIDC raises an online demand note for its Fire Protection Fund fee.

What is the Pune fire brigade's number for NOC work?

The PMC Central Fire Brigade station in Mahatma Phule Peth publishes 020 26451707 and 020 26450601. PCMC's main fire station at Sant Tukaram Nagar publishes 020 27423333, and MIDC's Hinjewadi Phase I station 020 22933101.

Does a Pune hospital need a fire NOC?

Yes. The fire NOC is mandatory for registration under the Bombay Nursing Homes Registration Act. PMC served 37 private hospitals with show-cause notices in January 2026, and PCMC reported in September 2026 that about 485 of 750 private hospitals in Pimpri-Chinchwad lacked one.

Does a Pune fire NOC need renewal?

Maharashtra's Act fixes no general renewal period. A licensed agency's Form B goes to the fire service every January and July, and residential towers above 70 m need a licensed fire audit every 2 years. In January 2026 IMA Pune reported that hospitals were being asked for a NOC every year.

Who issues fire NOCs in Hinjewadi?

MIDC runs fire stations at Hinjewadi Phase I and Phase III, and plots in those MIDC phases take their fire approval through MIDC's single window. Hinjewadi land outside MIDC lies in the PMRDA region, where PMRDA's Fire Department issues the NOC.
