Overview

The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) advertised 751 Fire Fighter posts (post code 26) on 29 July 2026 in notification Rc No. 189/Rect./Rect-2/2026, at pay Rs 24,280-72,850. Selection runs in four steps: a 200-mark preliminary written test, a physical test, a 200-mark final written examination and certificate verification. Merit for this post rests on the final written examination alone.

Men run 1600 m in 7 min 15 s and women 800 m in 5 min 20 s; the run, long jump and shot put only qualify and carry no marks. The minimum height is 167.6 cm for men and 152.5 cm for women. Candidates need an Intermediate pass and a valid LMV licence. At the time of writing the notice gave no application dates and no fee amount.

Neither written syllabus names a fire topic: both are general studies at Intermediate standard. This page adds a 27-question fire-service practice quiz built only from facts Flamekite has verified in Indian Standards, so it prepares you for the job, not for the paper.

Every figure about the recruitment is from TSLPRB notification Rc No. 189/Rect./Rect-2/2026 dated 29 July 2026, read on 26 October 2026; anything the notice does not print is marked not confirmed. The quiz is Flamekite's own and is not a past paper. A later corrigendum or press release can change dates and numbers: check www.tgprb.in before you apply.

How the Telangana Fire Fighter application works, step by step

  1. Register on the portal

Create an account at www.tgprb.in with a mobile number that stays in your custody for the whole recruitment; it becomes your user ID and the Board's only channel to you.

  2. Choose the post and pay the fee

Select notification 189 and the Fire Fighter post. The fee is worked out from the posts chosen and paid by card, net banking or UPI; it is not refunded, and the notice prints no amount. SC and ST candidates local to Telangana pay a concessional fee.

  3. Fill Part I

Complete the first part of the online form and upload the documents the notice lists. Only the online form is accepted.

  4. Sit the preliminary test

Candidates who qualify in the preliminary written test then fill Part II and download an intimation letter for the physical test.

  5. Clear the physical test and final test

Qualifiers in the physical test get hall tickets for the final written examination; those who qualify in it are called for certificate verification with originals and two photocopy sets.

Telangana fire fighter vacancies 2026: 751 posts

The notice lists 751 Fire Fighter posts, 740 by direct recruitment and 11 as backlog, in 33 districts.

Telangana fire fighter selection stages in order

You must pass each stage in sequence, and missing any one of them disqualifies you.

  1. Stage 1: preliminary written test

One paper of 3 hours, 200 questions, 200 marks. It is a filter: only qualifiers go on. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

  2. Stage 2: physical tests

Run, then height, then long jump and shot put, in that order, on the day fixed. No postponement or re-test is allowed. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

  3. Stage 3: final written examination

One paper of 3 hours and 200 marks for Fire Fighter. Final merit is drawn from this score alone, not from the physical test. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

  4. Stage 4: certificate verification

Originals plus two sets of photocopies. A mismatch with the online form rejects the candidature. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

  5. Stage 5: medical examination

Provisionally selected candidates are referred to the District Headquarters Hospital; eye cases go to Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, whose opinion is final. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

Deleted questions are compensated in proportion to the marks a candidate scored on the questions that remain. Notification Rc No. 189/2026, para 16.

Telangana fire fighter negative marking and qualifying marks

In the preliminary test a wrong or double-marked answer costs 20 percent of that question's marks, and a blank costs nothing.

The notice words the rule for the preliminary test: full marks if exactly one bubble is darkened and it is correct, zero if none is darkened, and in all other cases 20 percent of the question's marks are deducted. With 1 mark per question, which follows from 200 questions for 200 marks, that is 0.2 per wrong answer.

The final written examination note prints the qualifying percentages but does not repeat the 20 percent rule in the text read. Whether the same deduction applies there is not confirmed; assume it does until the hall-ticket instructions say otherwise.

Flamekite's working, not the notice's: with a 20 percent deduction a guess pays off only when your chance of being right is above 1 in 6, about 17 percent. Rule out two of four options and guessing is worth it; if you cannot rule out any, leave it blank.

Minimum percentage to qualify, by category (notice para 16).

Telangana fire fighter medical standards: 6/6 vision and 8 named bars

The notice sets sound health, 6/6 distant vision in each eye and a list of conditions that bar selection.

Do

  • Have distant vision 6/6 in the right and the left eye, with a full field of vision in each. TSLPRB notice 189/2026
  • Be in sound health, free of any bodily defect that makes you unfit for the post. TSLPRB notice 189/2026
  • Get a Civil Surgeon's check before applying, as the notice advises, since the formal medical comes only after selection. TSLPRB notice 189/2026
  • Expect one referral only: the District Headquarters Hospital, then Osmania or Gandhi Hospital Hyderabad, with eye cases to Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital, whose opinion is final. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

Don’t

  • Do not expect to pass with colour blindness, squint or any morbid condition of the eye or lids. TSLPRB notice 189/2026
  • Do not apply if you have knock-knees, pigeon chest, flat foot, varicose veins or hammer toes. TSLPRB notice 189/2026
  • Do not expect selection with fractured limbs, decayed teeth, stammering, hard hearing or abnormal psychological behaviour. TSLPRB notice 189/2026
  • Do not count on a second expert opinion: there is no re-examination after a referral. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

TGSLPRB fireman syllabus: the 9 topics in Annexures II and III

The notice names intermediate-standard general topics only, with no fire science, and prescribes no textbook.

Fire-service topics to study beside the 9-topic syllabus

The notice does not test fire science, but the job does, and each topic below has a Flamekite page built from the standards.

Telangana fire fighter preparation plan from the 200-mark pattern

Flamekite’s working from the official rules; no government publishes this figure.

At 200 questions in 180 minutes you have 54 seconds a question, so speed and the 20 percent deduction shape your plan.

  1. 1. Fix the clock

Time per question is 54 seconds in each 3-hour paper (180 minutes over 200 questions); practise in full 180-minute sets, not topic by topic. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

  2. 2. Aim past the preliminary cut

60 of 200 marks clears the OC cut and 40 clears the SC and ST cut; aim well above it, because the notice sets minimums, not the number needed to be called. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

  3. 3. Put most weight on the final paper

80 of 200 marks is the OC minimum, and merit for post code 26 rests on this paper alone. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

  4. 4. Prepare the ninth topic

Ethics, gender sensitivity, social awareness and emotional intelligence appear only in the final test. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

  5. 5. Start the run early

1600 m in 7 min 15 s is about 4 min 32 s a kilometre pace (Flamekite's arithmetic), and the standard is pass or fail. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

  6. 6. Hold the LMV licence

It must be valid on 29 July 2026 and is checked at certificate verification. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

Telangana Fire Fighter notice: what is not confirmed

Six items a reader expects are not printed in the notice or were not proof-read, so none is published as fact.

  • If Application opening and closing dates

The notice only says they will be intimated through a press release. Watch www.tgprb.in; no date is published here. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

  • If Fee amount

The notice says the fee is as designated in the online application and gives no rupee figure. Not confirmed. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

  • If Exam dates and cut-off marks

No exam dates are in the notice, and previous cut-offs are not an official publication. Not confirmed. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

  • If Chest measurement and near vision

No chest figure is printed for post code 26; the near-vision value was not proof-read against the page image and is not published. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

  • If Negative marking in the final test

The deduction is worded for the preliminary test only. Check the final hall-ticket instructions. TSLPRB notice 189/2026

  • If Station Fire Officer

That post is in a separate TSLPRB notice not read for this page; see the fire jobs page for the officer route. TSLPRB notice 189/2026
