Quick answer

Chhattisgarh Fire and Emergency Services issue the fire NOC on firenoc.cg.gov.in in up to 30 days, valid 3, 2 or 1 years by risk since 16 October 2025. Homes up to 15 m get 3 years, hotels and smaller hospitals 2, and assembly buildings, hospitals above 15 m and hazardous premises 1.

How to get a fire NOC in Chhattisgarh on firenoc.cg.gov.in

  1. Check the class and the equipment list

Find your building in the 12 classes of 29 November 2022, then open the portal's checklist for your occupancy: it lists the systems NBC Part 4 Table 7 requires.

  2. Register with e-mail, mobile and password

Registration also asks for a verification code. You log in later with the Application ID or e-mail; the profile details cannot be changed once saved.

  3. Choose pre-construction, post-construction or renewal

Pick the building type and sub-type. Before construction the layout plan must mark where each system will go; after construction the systems must be installed and working.

  4. Upload the documents and choose the auditor

Each file under 10 MB, JPG or PDF. Agree the audit fee with the third-party auditor first: the portal says a TPA once selected cannot be changed.

  5. Submit and track the file

The system refuses to submit while documents or equipment are missing. The Director assigns an inspection team in 5 days; the team inspects and reports in 20 days.

  6. Download the NOC and diarise the duties

The Director issues or rejects in 5 more days; you download the certificate from your dashboard. File the yearly self-declaration, the January and July auditor certificates, and apply for renewal 3 months before expiry.

Documents for a Chhattisgarh fire NOC, new and renewal

The online manual asks for 2 uploads before construction, 2 after and 3 for renewal, each under 10 MB. The paper format adds the facts the officer will check.

  • Before construction: the building's registration certificate and the layout plan, marked with where each required system will go CG Fire NOC
  • After construction: the registration certificate and the building permission or completion certificate, or an affidavit if there is none CG Fire NOC
  • Renewal: those two, plus a copy of the NOC issued earlier CG Fire NOC
  • The building's type among 9 occupancies, its land area, the number of floors and their areas CG Fire NOC

What a Chhattisgarh fire NOC costs: fee, auditor and fire tax

Chhattisgarh publishes no fire NOC fee. The law allows one, the auditor is paid by the owner at a price the portal tells you to agree first, and a fire tax has a ceiling but no rate in force that we found.

As published

  • Fire NOC feeNot publishedSection 28(4) of the Act and rule 40 leave it to Government; no rate on the portal CG Gazette
  • Payment records on the portal0 shownThe public report lists 33 districts but displayed no records on 24 October 2026 CG Fire NOC
  • Third-party auditor's audit feeAgreed with the auditorThe portal: discuss rates and terms before selecting; no switch afterwards Fire and Emergency Services and SDRF, Chhattisgarh
  • Government buildingsNilSection 32: no fee on buildings of the Government or its authorities CG Gazette
  • Fire taxUp to 10% of property taxSection 26 ceiling, collected by the local body; no levy notification found CG Gazette
  • Water used to fight a fireNilSection 44: no local body may charge for it CG Gazette
  • Late Fire Safety Officer₹10 to ₹50 per m² a monthSection 19(2), after 30 days' notice CG Gazette

A consultant's guide says a Chhattisgarh certificate is "typically" valid 1 year and names no fee; the 2025 order now sets 1 to 3 years. Your consultant's or auditor's charge is not a government fee. For every state's fees, see the fire NOC fees table.

Chhattisgarh third-party auditor grades A to D

The portal's sheet for auditors sets 4 grades. The grade decides which risk tier an auditor may inspect, so a high-risk building needs a Grade A firm.

  • ₹ 25,000

Grade A registration fee; solvency ₹15 lakh, bank guarantee ₹1.5 lakh; high, moderate and low risk and temporary structures CG Fire NOC

  • ₹ 15,000

Grade B fee; solvency ₹10 lakh, guarantee ₹1 lakh; moderate and low risk and temporary structures CG Fire NOC

  • ₹ 10,000

Grade C fee; solvency ₹5 lakh, guarantee ₹50,000; low risk and temporary structures CG Fire NOC

  • ₹ 5,000

Grade D fee; solvency ₹2.5 lakh, guarantee ₹25,000; temporary structures such as pandals only CG Fire NOC

The yearly declaration and January and July audits in Chhattisgarh

A Chhattisgarh certificate carries three running duties: a yearly declaration, a yearly audit report under the 2025 order, and an auditor's certificate twice a year under rule 37A.

Do

  • File the self-declaration and the third-party audit report every year of the 1, 2 or 3-year term. Fire and Emergency Services and SDRF, Chhattisgarh
  • Submit a licensed auditor's certificate on the upkeep of the fire measures in January and again in July. CG Home Dept
  • Pick an auditor whose grade covers your tier: only Grade A may audit high-risk buildings. CG Fire NOC
  • Keep every system working at all times; rule 41 makes the occupier answer for it. CG Gazette

Don’t

  • Use an unlicensed auditor: since 24 November 2025 only the fire service or a licensed TPA may audit. CG Home Dept
  • Select an auditor on the portal before agreeing the fee: the choice cannot be switched. Fire and Emergency Services and SDRF, Chhattisgarh
  • Accept an audit certificate for systems that are not actually in place; rule 37A bars auditors from issuing one. CG Home Dept
  • Tamper with, remove or damage any fire or life safety equipment, which section 20(4) forbids. CG Gazette

What section 20(2) of the Chhattisgarh fire Act says about completion certificates

This one sub-section ties the fire NOC to the building permission system in every Chhattisgarh town.

Word for word

Notwithstanding anything contained in any law for the time being in force, no Authority empowered to sanction the construction plan of any building or part of a building and to issue certificate of completion thereof, shall issue any certificate of completion or part completion thereof, unless it is satisfied that the owner has complied with the measures prescribed under sub-section (2) of Section 14.

Rule 35 of the 2021 Rules repeats the bar for residential occupancy permission and adds licences: no authority may issue or renew a licence for a cinema, multiplex, hospital, factory, hotel, warehouse or cold store without working fire systems and a valid certificate. Section 33 lets the fire service ask for a business licence to be cancelled with immediate effect.
