Overview

This bank holds 44 multiple-choice questions on the Explosives Rules, 2008 and the Explosives Act, 1884, in four sets: classes and definitions (10), licences and authorities (11), shops, stores and distances (11), and transport and offences (12). Every explanation names the rule, schedule or section, and the fireworks questions follow the Rules as amended up to 2 March 2026.

The Rules were made by G.S.R. 907(E) of 29 December 2008 under the Act and are enforced by PESO and District Magistrates. Textbook answers go stale: the accident notice is 12 hours since 2019, licences run up to 10 financial years since 1 May 2025, and fireworks shops face a 50 m rule since 3 March 2026.

Learn the numbers by rule: 100 kg, 5,000 kg, 2,000 kg, 50 shops, 15 m and 12 hours recur. The traps and the checklist below end the page.

Every question rests on the Explosives Rules, 2008 (G.S.R. 907(E) of 29 December 2008, read from the Gazette text and PESO's copy), the amending Gazettes of 2019, 2024, 2025 and 2026, G.S.R. 772(E) of 2013 on non-licence fees and the Explosives Act, 1884 (PESO's English copy), as read on 25 and 26 October 2026. No question rests on a news or law-blog summary. It is study material, not legal advice: the licensing authority's reading prevails.
